The Gymkhana stunt-driving franchise has left its mark on automotive culture with more than a half-billion views on YouTube. The newest VSC-prepared Subaru Gymkhana car is an outrageous homage to the classic Subaru GL (‘Leone’ outside the USA) wagons from the 1980s. Affectionately named the Subaru GL ‘Family Huckster'. The build incorporated the record smashing power foundation of the previous Air Slayer Gymkhana car and new highly personalized developments that make this the most bespoke Gymkhana car to date. One of these developments is the 12″ dashboard screen behind the steering wheel, custom designed to mimic the look and style of the distinctive Subaru 1980s electronic dashboards. The dash design had to serve multiple functions. A diagnostic tool for the team as well as the main gauges for the driver which had to be tailored to the unique driving scenarios Travis would be putting the car through during filming.
